Special Centenary Events

Special Centenary Events at this year’s National Honey Show 2023

In addition to the usual bumper package of activities at this year’s show, we have centenary ‘specials’ for you to enjoy.  We will add to this list as further activities are finalised.

Throughout the show: ‘A World of Bees’ exhibition of stunning photographs by French photojournalist Eric Tourneret. Eric will be attending the show.  ‘A World of Bees’ book will be available from the Northern Bee Books stand at the show.

Thursday afternoon, starting 2pm in the Solario Suite, a series of HistoricBeekeeping films from the  BBKA, FIBKA
and Hampshire BKA archives.  See p19 and for timings 24 of the convention programme.


Thursday evening 18.30 Central Association of Beekeepers (CABK) Social Evening with Professor Robert Pickard in conversation with Randy Oliver. Details from www.cabk.org.uk/events and tickets available from the CABK stand at the show.

Friday Evening 18.00 in the cafeteria: Bees for Development Social Evening. 
All welcome, tickets available from the Bees for Development stand in the trade hall

From the Trade hall, visit the stands for:

•  Candle Cavern: special centenary candles.

•  Claire Murthy Art: a new children’s book:  “Izzie Lizzie Busy Bee” focussing on the worker bee’s toil and hazards as she forages.

Meriet Duncan: Betsie Valentine and The Honeybees: Colouring competition.

Northern Bee Books: many fascinating books including the new book to accompany the show’s exhibition ‘A World of Bees’ by Eric Tourneret.

Northumberland Honey will be launching their very special centenary product , their first distilled mead.
