Our younger Bee Enthusiasts

We welcome junior bee enthusiasts to the show, and especially their contribution when entering the junior competitive classes. They don’t have to keep bees themselves to enter many of the junior classes (no entry fee) in the show. In addition to classes for honey, here are many art, essay and photo classes.  Juniors can also enter the adult classes,
so do have a browse.

Class 101 for a ‘thirty second video clip of beekeeping interest’ might be fun if you have your phone ready for that captivating moment.

Bee Suits are available for children as young as five, for those endlessly curious about the fascinating life of honey bees.

There are classes for groups such as schools, Scout groups or junior bee clubs. Our junior entries make a stunning and very  popular display at the show, and winning prizes is very exciting.  So do encourage our younger generation to take an interest in supporting our insects in general and honey bees in particular, and to enter their honey and artwork into the show.

Entry forms can be found on our website. Completed entry forms for classes 95-109 inclusive and 315-316 and 318, i.e. essays, videos, microscope slides and photographs must reach the Entries Secretary by 11th September 2023. The actual entries for these classes need to be with the appropriate convenor as directed by the entries secretary by 25th September.

Entry forms for all other entries must reach our entries secretary by the 9th October 2023.
